THE EDGE STYLE # 4

LANVIN FALL 2009

The appeal of Lanvin's Fall 2009 collection is sober.
From the usual, creative, flamboyant nature of Lanvin's menswear collection, Lucas Ossendrijver had turned to his mentor, Alber Elbaz for help thus the result is a stunning, rather contradicting (seen in the treatments used on certain fabrics such as jersey-a soft textile, turned into a sharp suit) collection geared towards the new man.
With muted colors-browns, dark greens, blacks, Fall 2009 is all about the layering (of course) and the slim cut trousers tucked inside lace up boots.
There is a certain military-feel and look to the collection that makes you wonder, are all these designers really thinking about men-people in general, as fighters and survivors of these times?
And if they do, thank God for giving us fighters the inspiration to REALLY fight and survive in handsome fashion.
