DETAILS
JEREMY RENNER, December 2012
"...I'd rather just not be popular" Jeremy Renner.
Click to see more photos plus, him breaking through glass DETAILS magazine

Seems quite the trend lately, giving much older men (and probably women too) the spotlight and it ain't so bad. Jeremy Renner, the Hurt Locker lead, Mission: Impossible--Ghost Protocol, The Avengers & The Bourne Legacy starring actor is now a bona fide movie star, who may be the biggest action star revelation we're seeing.

For DETAILS December 2011-January 2012 issue, Renner covers the issue and looks stunning on the magazine's all gray cover. His profile, written by Adam Sachs, leads you into the world of the 40-year old actor and all the stories of his making-it-in-to-Hollywood. Check out why I'm placing lots of money on this one and what he says about Shia LaBeouf's Transformers gig.

THE WEEKEND:

MUSIC. STYLE. READS & MORE.

Get yourself studied on the "What matters" this weekend. From new tracks to download, styles to learn, reads to flip through and whole lots more, here's your shortlist guide to THE WEEKEND!

>>> Put on loop: Onra's Chinoiseries Pt. 2
BUT WHY?: Onra, the Paris-based hip hop beatmaker is a notorious man I'm glad to name drop once asked for song suggestions. No expert in music, but this one's got the best beats for all those occasions (parties, casual dinners, pounding the pavement and more). His sound, in general makes the word "swagger" an incredibly over-rated term with music that captures a certain cool you'd probably fail to understand. Hence we all settle with "Damn Onra's just soo cool."
No Matter What has put in my head a vision of a Dries Van Noten menswear collection and a 2 minute fashion show. It's that kind of cool. Genius.
He's an artist, I believe and I'm a fan. Chinoiseries Pt. 2 is, for me, a better series than his first one, just cause here he sounds tighter. I've included this exact song for my Salt Sunday Sounds and it's possibly the "sickest" I've heard in ages.

OTHER TRACKS: Aside from this runway-ready track, Ms. Ho will remind you of a country song mixed in with lots of Chinese instruments that'll mellow down into just pure awesomeness. Warrior's Pride is another track to reserve patience for, as the build up, 20-30 seconds into the song, leads into a steady, head-bopping beat.

THE STARTER:

NOVEMBER 2011
ICON. WOMAN. GEAR. MUSIC. READS & MORE.

We're this close to ending 2011, but the great stuff just still keep on coming. Welcome November, gents with THE EDGE's STARTER.

>>> ICON: Leonardo DiCaprio

WHY HE'S LEGENDARY: Famous for movies that challenge the ordinary movie-goer's expectations, this actor is one of our greats: Leonardo DiCaprio has shown that having staying power, pure talent and taking acting seriously could get you to legendary heights. Never one to top bill a snooze of a film and DiCaprio has maintained---if not improved, a career that stands firmly on a true understanding of the art of acting.
WORDS TO LIVE BY: I was always the kid in school who tried to get attention, not necessarily the class clown, but I'd do little unexpected performances.

>>> GEAR: TRIUMPH  + STEVE McQUEEN MOTORCYCLE
The Steve McQueen edition @Selectism
WHY IT'S HOT: The Great Escape did influence today's culture, at least in the style department what with Steve McQueen looking all rugged and cool in his awesome antics in the 1963 film. Triumph takes its inspiration from the "German military BMW" that McQueen used for the movie, giving the Steve McQueen edition an awesome military green matte touch. I'm no expert in bikes (you could definitely tell), but this one looks most handsome I tell you from the others I've seen. The namesake also gives it an added muscle of a personality...1,100 units will be created and you better get yourself one soon.

THE SANDWICH:

READS. STYLE. PEOPLE. & ART.

GQ's "wait for it, it's gonna be...legendary" cover,  boots worth the hike, a bag I'm dreaming of as we speak and the art exhibit you'll want to visit.

The mid-week sandwich you'd gladly take a bite out of. Welcome to The Sandwich gents!

+ GQ hosts a musical of Survivors
The face, voice and the words of a generation.
Eminem for GQ November 2011
The November 2011 issue of GQ just might be my favorite of all time. While I'm still loving the October issue, hours ago GQ finally released its impressive portfolio of musical geniuses. From Eminem to Debbie Harry, Brandon Flowers to Erykah Badu, Lil Wayne to Keith Richards, their Entertainment issue of Vanity Fair proportions has successfully profiled a whopping 38 artists, all heavy hitters and names in the music industry. Read and brush up on some pop and music culture and history with this issue and ask yourself, why they're called The Survivors. Keep checking out their website as well to watch, read and listen to their interviews. But your best bet is to grab the copy. And did I mention how the cover is awesome?! Yes! It's fucking awesome. Definitely a book and a must-read for GQ, music and magazine fans.

+ The finest wash bag there is...by Mulberry
Mulberry's Large Leather Wash Bag @finercut
My wash bag is a pretty Ralph Lauren one, a charming hand-me-down from my late stylish grandfather. If he handed me this done, I'd freak out. Not that my Ralph Lauren looks like trash (in fact, it's one of the prettiest things I've sene), but this Mulberry leather wash bag is just insanely chic. Their Scotchgrain luggage collection offers you this baby, made of fine leather in cognac and trimmed with a lighter brown strap. Divine is an understatement, fine as well. Had anyone given this to me as a present, I'd never take it out of its box. Too good to be a "wash bag". It's that beautiful.

+ Inside birds' houses. Art by Lori Blados

Bedroom by Lori Blados @ Curated
Training in college always told us never to say "it's cute" after seeing an artwork. It's rude, it's shallow and most of all, no one should say things are cute. Well, that last part, you could save for other things, just not art. HOWEVER, when I saw the paintings by Lori Blados, it was the first thing that popped in my mind: "Oh how cute, birds have their own human-like houses." Now, I'm punching myself for that. Lori Blados' exhibition runs from September 30 to October 28 in Connecticut at Diane Birdsall gallery, featuring birds that are looking into bird houses that have human elements in them. Trippy to some of us, but it tells you something about reality and how, possibly, there could be other forms of reality we are all unaware of. That's my interpretation of it. But it's better for you to check them out on your own and study...Just don't say it's cute.

+ Hike away in Visvim
visvim's Serra boots @ HighSnobiety
A hike usually requires more function than fashion, but we all have to thank the fashion gods up above, cause definitely somebody there loves us. Hikers and non-hikers behold the handsome, rough yet neat Serra boots by Visvim. Waxed cowhide uppers and Okayama denim detailing, plus a natural cork footbed, leather welt construction and all the signature visvim detailing, these goodies are great on and off a hike. Hikers, go test the fashionable footwear, cause it'll surely deliver. If you're more like me, I'll wear this for fashion. And fine, probably climb a mountain too...

ROGUE Magazine
Anne Curtis, October 2011

Shot by Mark Nicdao
Styled by Pam Quinones
My love affair with ROGUE started with Anne Curtis: July 2008. She was wearing a white tank, pulling it down and it was the simplest, most eye-catching cover on the newsstand that time. I had only the slightest idea about the magazine, but it was the cover that really got me.

Now she's covering it again. Shot in Paris, by Mark Nicdao and styled by Pam Quinones. Possibly the country's biggest star today, Anne Curtis is smoking lights, incredibly sexy, beautiful and just plain perfect. Grab your copies and don't worry about not getting bang for your buck cause the cover alone is worth it. As always, the magazine has got you covered for the entire month on all things entertaining.

BUT, what's incredibly great about the October issue is its 3 covers. So this is the first one. ROGUE, ROGUE, ROGUE... Always beating themselves.

Congratulations...I am speechless.

ARMIE HAMMER
DETAILS magazine October 2011
Armie Hammer for DETAILS magazine
The twins you saw on The Social Network, is played by Armie Hammer. And it's no surprise that he's playing GQ October 2011 cover boy's (Leonardo Di Caprio)---swallow hard, lover, for the Clint Eastwood biopic J. Edgar. The 6 foot something actor is clad in a denim jacket on the cover, shot in a cool industrial setting and it's beyond fitting for him, since Hammer, is in fact heir to a "vast oil fortune", as DETAILS writes. Way better cover for DETAILS than their September issue one.

Leonardo Di Caprio in GQ
Hollywood's premiere actor, Leonardo Di Caprio is taking on a kinda new role in his latest film project directed by Clint Eastwood. Di Caprio, who's roles have always been pretty serious is seriously stylish for GQ's October 2011 issue, this photo, to be exact, his one of his best photos I've seen.

THE SANDWICH:

WEAR. WATCH. READ & LISTEN

The mid-week bite brings you the following: a new surfer flick, the 5 albums you ought to download, Patrick Ervell's field coat & Alexander Skarsgaard's pricelessness...All here.

Welcome to your mid-week bite at The Sandwich.

>>> BUCKLEY SINGS GRACE & 4 MORE SOUNDS TO SAVE

Jeff Buckley's Grace one of the five albums featured @Every Guyed
It's his good looks and his warm, whiskey-sounding voice that brings ladies to a trance. Couldn't blame the man, he's talented and raw-sounding, things that are a "Go" for most ladies. His album Grace is an overall powerful sound trip, setting a mood perfect for sobriety and a little romance. So the next time you want to impress a beauty, make sure Grace is on your playlist. Every Guyed has four more albums that are man-approved and are sure to win the ladies. Check them out here

>>> THE M-65 VERSION 2011

Patrick Ervell Field Coat in Army Tan @SwipeLife
Everything about this M-65 (Field Coat) is handsome: moleskin in tan, four front pockets that close in snaps, a drawstring waist, metal snaps and Velcro fastenings. Patrik Ervell's 2011 version of a menswear classic is grounded, straight-forward and a summary of the things that masculine outerwear should be: sporty, clean, crisp and chic. What I love about coats and outerwear in general is the difference it makes on a look. This utilitarian staple manages a chic cover-up for lazy days, a humbling armor for flashier occasions or a star on its own, fitted and zipped-up during weather battles. I'm placing my money on this.

>>> THE YEAR THE WORLD SURFS

Renegade surfers out on a hunt for three of the finest things any surfer would comb the world for: ladies, waves and great times. Year Zero is a post-apocalyptic vision through the eyes of surf stars, shot in 16mm film with a soundtrack by BLACK MOUNTAIN, this is probably the year the world really starts surfing. A GLOBE production sure to please, everyone should know that this will surely leave an impact. Check out more details at Surfing Magazine

>>> PRICELESS: ALEXANDER SKARSGARD

Designer gym clothes or just down-right cool athletic gear, Alexander Skarsgard's simple yet memorable cover for WONDERLAND @DesignScene

True Blood vampire, Alexander Skarsgard goes all black and simple for WONDERLAND magazine's Priceless issue September/October 2011. Featured on the other cover is Kirsten Dunst, both of which star in the new film Melancholia. While I have only the slightest idea of what this film is about, it has come to my attention that Skarsgard's steady rise to superstardom has gotten the fashion world pretty excited. This man, will be appearing on more magazine covers real soon and it's no point of contention. His model good-looks and stellar acting chops are sure elements for a lasting star and that's priceless indeed.

THE WEEKEND:

WEAR. LISTEN. STYLE & GET.
Rolex's latest offering, DETAILS' guide to the season switch, the musical collaboration of the year (if not the decade) and the bag to buy.
You know what it is gents. That's right.
It's THE WEEKEND!

+ COAST GUARD COOL

Louis Vuitton
Burberry Prorsum

At DETAILS, what they're talking about now (September 2011 issue) is how to do the switch: from summer basics to fall must-haves and this story shot by Will Davidson captures Whale Beach style and how it's done. Bundle up in easy, cool coats from Fall's biggest names right after a surf and it's an instant transition. You may have your doubts about it, but on photos they look great. Check out more from DETAILS' September 2011 issue here.

+ THE THRONE TO WATCH

Midway last week, Twitter was all about some throne to watch. I had no idea what #WatchTheThrone meant or what it was about, but when I dropped by the Rolling Stone website last week I read an entry about a Jay-Z and Kanye West collaboration, which, as you know, is a high voltage collaboration. And then I heard it on the radio how one of them complained about the other and stuff like that---typical industry drama, and finally confirmed that Watch The Throne is the title of these geniuses' project. Days ago was the debut of their awesome song, Otis featuring Otis Redding's Try A Little Tenderness as the song's cool, vintage base. The video is superb, simple but cool. The ladies are beautiful, Kanye's JakandJil-esque bracelets are killing me, Jay-Z's rhymes are spot on and that car... (mind you, I'm no car fanatic, but I know a beautiful ride when I see one). Gents, should I say more? Listen up now!

+ BAGGED!

Patrick Stephan "Body Bag" @ Selectism
Sheepskin. Oversized. Brown/Black. Awesome interior lining. I'm sold. But really, Patrick Stephan's Body Bag is one of the finest looking bags out there. You could stuff everything inside it and never worry about ruining its looks, cause this one's built to last (despite its plush looks). Doesn't really matter if you go for black or brown cause it looks fantastic either way. And did I mention that cityscape interior? Oh yeah, I already did.

+ THE SUMMER INVESTMENT

Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King Precision (1966) @GQ
Combine a fine quality, tri-colored nylon strap with something as precious as a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King Precision (that dates back to 1966) and you get a $3,600 timepiece that sums up a perfect summer anywhere. It does break the bank but when you think about it, it really should. It's a Rolex, a vintage one at that and while you think it's trendy to strap on something like this, you'll realize that every summer gents actually wear timepieces such as this one. So, if you have money to get one, I suggest you get one now.

ESQUIRE UK
SEPTEMBER 2011

Daniel Craig for Esquire UK

Britain's very own Cowboy, Daniel Craig, who stars in this month's Jon Favreau film Cowboys & Aliens smiles on the cover of British Esquire. Both covers (for the newsstands and for subscribers) look amazing, but after seeing a photo inside it does remind me of Craig's American Esquire stint. Hmmm...Well, I'm a fan now. I've always considered the man the perfect Esquire cover and he's now my standard of the phrase "ruggedly handsome".

Check out the other cool stories inside such as a purple paint-splattered Bally bag and a blue painted Jimmy Choo monkstrap. Probably out on newsstands by now. Preview the magazine on their Facebook page.

THE STORY:

THE UNDERCOVER
VMAN # 23
The Coupe Jacob Coupe in Salvatore Ferragamo
Photographed by Josh Olins
Styled by Clare Richardson

VMAN's Archetype issue is pleasing most of us in the blogosphere and after finally securing a copy of their age issue last year, I've counted myself a VMan man too. Featuring the coolest outerwear on the coolest faces of modeling (Harry Goodwins, Jacob Coupe, Paul Boche, Clement Chabernaud, Salieu Jalloh and Lenz von Johnston) The Undercover shows you how to walk the streets in chic anonymity.

And to make the story more of a powerhouse, Josh Olins teams up with Clare Richardson to deliver a subtle but gritty story packed with the most awesome of pieces for Fall. Congratulations VMan, this is an A for me.

ROGUE magazine
AUGUST 2011

Photographed by Mark Nicdao
Styled by LA Consing Lopez
The long wait is over.

ROGUE magazine's Appetite issue is here, featuring Claudine Trillo on its cover conjuring up an image of a pin-up girl, out for a barbecue party. It's a pretty picture actually, especially how you see Mark Nicdao's trademark lighting doing its magic on Trillo and classy styling as always, courtesy of LA Consing Lopez. For me though, I've seen better, more exciting covers from ROGUE.

While I'm no food expert, I'm a true blue foodie and this cover's got me at "Artisan Ice Cream". Also what's keeping me intrigued is that "tongue cancer" piece. This is what keeps ROGUE going, the thought provoking headlines matched with sophisticated covers, I mean, it's what keeps it a publication apart.

Grab your copies as soon as it hits newsstands (and while I'm at it, go check out my Saddle Shoe piece...One of my more difficult, constantly revised pieces for the magazine, so thank you LA) and I just might change my mind about the cover when it arrives at my place soon.

THE WEEKEND:

July's last weekend is here and what THE EDGE has in store for you will definitely keep you smiling 'till next year.

Here we go gents THE WEEKEND!

+ DREAM OF CALIFORNICATION

3.1 Philip Lim takes us on cool overdose for Spring 2012. Philip Lim offers a pretty current collection, all of which are done in light strides and are heavily inspired by California, possibly, Spring 2012's most referenced state of America: acid-washed fabrics, denim pieces to wear 'till they tear (literally), windbreakers, shorts and lots more of those breezy items a California kid puts on his back. Check out the video and visualize your Spring next year with 3.1 Philip Lim
+ A VAULT ON SAIL
VAULT magazine's 2nd issue
Another Philippine publication that's pretty much doing it right, ABS-CBN's VAULT magazine gives local newsstands a refreshing break. Zero blurbs on its actual cover, a properly-spaced layout, its title obviously as prominent as the cover's subject, VAULT truly captures the essence of luxury: quiet, subtle but inspiring and of premium quality. For their second issue, they're featuring a yacht on its way towards the city and though I'm far from knowledgeable of yachts and their specs, this tiny magazine caught my attention from a sea of usual celebrities and models on covers. Grab yourselves a copy and please, keep faith in this one...

+ CARTOONY COGNAC
KAWS + Hennessy V.S. Cognac Limited Edition Bottles @ Swipelife
What do you get when famous labels and names head on for a collission/collaboration that celebrates art and drinking? You get this awesome, limited edition bottle of cognac from Hennessy designed by graffiti icon KAWS. Featuring KAWS' signature cartoon-style renderings on the classic Hennessy bottle, these limited editions will come with their very own number...420,000 of them. The odd combination makes for a cool, humorous design, the main reason why it actually works. Who knew something so serious such as cognac could get this cartoonish?
+ THE HANDSOME BOOKIE
Mob 2B Bookcase @Selectism
I love how Selectism's writer describes this bookcase from MOB. It is sexy, and even if it sounds sleezy, you couldn't deny the fact that this handsome bookcase could turn a short attention-spanned anybody into a self-confessed bookie. The colors pop but are far from annoying, the slanted slabs of wood/metal provide such a neat touch to the whole case and everything about this bookcase just makes eBooks and iPad versions of magazines a pathetic alternative.

GQ August 2011
MILA KUNIS
Sexy, smart and funny. That's beyond perfect.
Mila Kunis by Terry Richardson for GQ

I kind of expected how they were about to describe her. The sexy, beautiful lady who's funny as hell and is SURELY able to talk about something nerdy or geeky or smart like Star Trek and all that. I don't know, for a time it did sound cool of a lady to know something about those field of interests, but now it's just tiring to read it. She is though really funny. She's got that dark sex appeal that's truly as dangerous as dangerous could get and that's probably why I'm a fan.

Mila Kunis covers GQ's annual comedy issue for August 2011 and I also expected---GQ's getting kinda predictable anyway, but the love will always be there unharmed, Terry Richardson to take the photos of Kunis. It's the usual formula, go for sexy and humorous and Terry Richardson's the man. I'm getting this one, despite the expected points about it.

THE STARTER + THE WEEKEND:

PEOPLE. MUSIC. EATS. STYLE. READS. WOMAN & MORE

One of the most stylish, memorable rockstars out there
Mick Jagger
We're doing an American Tribute even when it's way past Independence Day. The Land of the Free deserves much recognition, and that's exactly what's starting this month on THE EDGE's STARTER + WEEKEND.

From surfing essentials to Europe's nod to America to the Stone we're eyeing to Mick Jagger to a British cowboy on Esquire, we're traveling around the world (almost) for this one.

>>> ICON: Mick Jagger
Not only is he the father of super gorgeous Georgia May Jagger, lead of The Rolling Stones, a style God, music legend, he's also this generation's favorite namedrop (check out Maroon 5 feat. Christina Aguilera's Moves Like Jagger and that other---I'm so sorry, annoying, song).
Check him out doing a face-off with another legend, David Bowie in Dancin' in the Street or watch him tear up the Grammys months ago.
The man's turning 68 on the 26th but he sure still got lots of swag.

>>> READ: Surf & Sea by John M. Kelly Jr.
Surf & Sea by John M. Kelly Jr.
After unearthing my first and last copy of Man About Town, 7th issue from last year's Fall/Winter, I realized that the British read's got lots of surfing and Americana featured in the issue. One of which that I really liked was this book Surf & Sea by John M. Kelly Jr. Surfing genius, John M Kelly Jr. is---mostly, the subject of this 4 decade old read. Purchase a copy to learn more about the surfing scene during those times and also get a peak inside the life and times of the inventor of the hydroplane surfboard and all over Renaissance man. I'm not even a surfer but I'm rubbing my chin, thinking of getting myself a copy.

>>> STORE/STYLE: Saturdays

That wall is mine. Suddenly, I'm glad Manila's got hot weather
Saturdays by DJORDYTHINKSTHISISCOOL
GQ grants New York's Saturdays a spot on the magazine's much favorable page GQ Endorses. Called "the coolest store in America right now" Saturdays is stocked with all the best finds a surfing dude (or dudette I guess) would need, from trunks to sneakers to those oh-so-cool tee shirts to surfboards in multiple hues to beach soaps, all of which are most probably touched by Saturdays. They even sell coffee. Beat that.

>>> MUSIC: The Beach Boys' All Summer Long

You're classic, best bet for a summer soundtrack, with or without a trip to the beach
The Beach Boys will always be an American musical treasure and this 1964 record's a keeper especially this summer time. Not only does it have such an inspiring and stylish jacket, the tracks are groovy, energetic and signature Beach Boys. Go road tripping to Do You Remember & Little Honda, go dancing and surfing to their famous I Get Around or better yet just drown in these beats on your iPods from start to finish.

>>>  STYLE: GQ Italia's Microfantasie

Microfantasie GQ Italia
When American staples get an Italian fix, it's bound to be a sure hit (for example Renato Carosone's Tu Vuo Fa' L'Americano). In this story featuring prints in microscopic cool, double-breasted suits to two-button jackets range from pale lilacs to dove gray hues Italian GQ's Microfantasie teaches you a thing or two about putting together a look this sophisticated and neat. There's an American element in it, the glasses, the blonde hair, it almost reminds you of Matt Damon on The Talented Mr. Ripley and then there's the obvious Italian tweaks on the spot-on styling and the pieces and what you get is an intercontinental fair of nothing but pure handsome style.

>>> WOMAN: Emma Stone

Set to star in a multitude of hits in the coming months---including the new Spider-Man, funny woman and  beautiful bombshell Emma Stone is Vanity Fair's cover star for August 2011. Watch the video and you'll realize that despite her Easy A simplicity, there is something dangerous about her that I love. Oh, and to those saying she's the new Lindsay Lohan, what the hell?!

>>> EATS: GQ's San Francisco Feature
The restaurant's cool exterior
Commonwealth's Menu

GQ's July 2011 issue has a round-up of the finest eateries in San Francisco. From the 10 Dishes Not To Miss (which includes Warm Egg Custard at Mission Chinese Food, Young Carrots at Plum, Eel, Feuille de Brick, Creme Fraiche, Lime at Benu and the delectable Foie Gras Bonbon at Commonwealth) to five of San Francisco's got-to-try places. Now the photos will get you starving, so I advise you to fill up before flipping the pages, just so you won't feel that bad.

>>> GEAR/STYLE: WASTE(TWICE) x MOUNTAIN SMITH LUGGAGE

Japan's Waste(Twice) and America's Mountainsmith = cool, cool backpack @HighSnobiety
While great outdoor activities enjoy massive global appeal, it is, for me, a truly American past time. So what better way to explore the wilderness than get straight-up backpacking in this collaborative masterpiece?  Japan's Waste(Twice) and America's Mountainsmith concocted a line of superb nylon/leather backpacks and waist bags that come in awesome colors: hyped-up blue and yellow, sporty red and black or classic black and brown. Stitched to stand the demands of any kind of outdoors adventure, these kids should definitely be on your list must-haves.

>>> READ/MAN: Daniel Craig on Esquire

The British Cowboy who'll be battling aliens real soon, Daniel Craig on Esquire August 2011

Isn't it fascinating that Cowboys VS. Alien's Cowboy is Mr. Bond? A Brit? The trailer looks awesome---a little weird though, cause, you know, it seems like the movie's a little bit too ambitious, but whatever, and whatever Daniel Craig does seems cool. This man, for me, is the epitome is macho cool, a modern day Steve McQueen. For August 2011, Esquire gets my vote for best magazine cover of the month. The "unfinished" look on it and the blues and browns definitely's got me itching for a copy. And of course, Daniel Craig is one of my favorite bad boys in Hollywood (including Clive Owen) so this issue ought to be a steal for me. Check out the issue the moment it hits newsstands and read up on Craig's interview, IF you get past the swearing.

Shia LaBeouf/August 2011

Looking great for DETAILS magazine
Photographed by Matthias Vriens-McGrath
You know a bad-ass when you see one and despite Shia LaBeouf's kiddy beginnings in the mad world of show business, the Transformer star has punched his way out of rumors, maybe movie sets, on-screen and also past those Even Stevens yesterdays. All man and grown-up, 25-year old LaBeouf is handsome and incredibly stylish on the pages of DETAILS.

Read up on an awesome portrait of the star by Aaron Gell on the latest issue of DETAILS magazine. And if it's Bumblebee he's riding in on the cover (yeah, that stark yellow ride), it's a plus for you and me.

TOP PICKS:

STREET STYLE GUIDE
MENSWEAR

Tommy Ton's Day 1 Pitti Uomo shot @ GQ

Keep up with what's happening on this month's most important (style and fashion wise) event: Pitti Uomo. While Milan Fashion Week (Spring 2012, Menswear) has finally begun, it's not always what the designers are sending down the runway that matters to you...It's also what the big boys are wearing. From street style heroes to stylish passers by, these are the top four Street Style blogs and photographers I highly recommend you check out:

>>> Tommy Ton for GQ
Usually what I go to, Tommy Ton's shots for GQ AND during fashion week always occupy my folder of pictures, and I sometimes have to deal with emotional pain before having them deleted (cause you just can't keep all those photos with you). Definitely highly recommended for its weekly updates and for the plain great photography.

Nam's day 1 Pitti Uomo shot. Anybody know who this is?

>>> Nam of STREET FSN
The Korean wonderboy we've met before (once interviewed here for THE STARTER) is now a giant when it comes to Street Style blogging and I commend STREET FSN photos for a little moody, almost moving kind of photography. STREET FSN is the one to beat, I'm telling you.

>>> ENRICO ZAFARANA
Enrico Zafarana's photos are (unfortunately) immune from all your right-clicking and for a damn good reason. Photos by Zafarana are cool and less "sunny" like the others, which lend a subtle chic touch to sometimes outrageously colorful subjects. Get over the fact that you couldn't save them and just ogle at all the magnificent details of both street style walkers and what's inside the shows.

Would you look at that pocket square...Guerreisms

>>> GUERREISMS
You could learn pronouncing the name---in case you find it difficult to, like I do, some other time, but make sure you follow/bookmark this Tumblr for more detail-oriented photos. Want to know how pocket squares are rolled/folded at Pitti Uomo? Exactly the place to go to.

+ The Best Twitter account you should follow during this week (and the next and the next...) is Sartorially Inclined's. I swear by it and he's actually my source of everything, these blogs included.

Reviews will be coming your way in a matter of days gents, so stick around.

PEOPLE. MUSIC. ICONS. STYLE. READS. & MORE.
THE EDGE @ 3

THE EDGE is getting you summer/rainy-season (and everything else in between) ready this month and surely, it's a fantastic line-up of things to purchase, love and treasure for a long, long, long time.

And since this is the EDGE's third year, this will be a well-packed starter for sure.

>>> ICON of the MONTH: BJORN BORG

Barely recognizable? I don't think so. Happy Birthday Mr. Bjorn Borg

I've only encountered the name "Bjorn Borg" the moment GQ celebrated the world's greatest athletes for their February 2011 issue. And for the same month, I got assigned to write about the tennis star's style for ROGUE magazine's first sports issue for April 2011. The man definitely's got some style: Fila shirts, the blonde wavy mane, the awesome tennis shorts and most of all, the champion-of-a-spirit on court that you could emulate off it. June 6, he celebrates his birthday and this is my tribute to the tennis superstar who changed the face of style through tennis. His best quote: My greatest point is my persistence. I never give up in a match. However down I am, I fight until the last ball.

>>> WEAR NOW: TRICOLOR SEBAGO DOCKSIDES

The secret weapon, as Kempt puts it
I love my Sebagos, but these kicks are beyond lovable. The cream, almost delicious outside makes for an already awesome pair to wear your chinos and jeans with, but the moment you take them off, the red and blue soles add more punch, character and an unexpected twist of chic to your arsenal of shoes. I just hope they have more colorways to choose from. Right?

>>> LISTEN/WATCH THIS: MONSTER

Kanye West's latest hit, Monster, is an awesome sound trip all in itself. Imagine the amount of talent and star power he gathers (aside from his own) for this track with Bon Iver doing vocals, Nicki Minaj rapping, Rick Ross and Young Hova/Jay-Z chanting about his "Achilles heel". I've only learned of the track hours ago and saw the video on Kanye's website. Both song and video achieve this stylish and addictive effect that'll surely keep your ears plugged for at least about ten times a day. Check out the sexy, dark and subtly demented early, early Halloween treat courtesy of Kanye West.

Well, if you want to try your hand at illustrating those wheels of your dreams, here's a great start to work with: I Draw Cars by Adam Hubuers and Matt Marrocco. Aside from the really serious and chic cover, and the promise of knowing how to draw a handsome Mercedez, there are more things inside that'll put a smile on your face, like auto show dates and locations, reference materials and 100 something pages of templates to practice your talent with. Get drawing now.

>>> GEAR UP: BOWERS & WILKINS P5

The elegant (expensive) and perfect P5 headphones
I'm not much of a techie, so the specs of this one will escape me and I'll probably never give these goodies enough justice. But I'm sure that while it's easy on the eyes and heavy for the wallet, Bowers & Wilkins' P5 is not just another pretty thing. It functions just as good as it looks and while the rest of the world settle for double digit cans, if you could afford a P5, go get yourself one, I'm sure it'll be an incredible purchase.

>>> THE GUIDE: THE FATHER's DAY SPECIAL

A season-less Columbiaknit sweater & more @Valet
If shopping for dad is a burden, Valet lets you in on a guide. From awesome sweaters to retro cool sunglasses, Urbanears headphones, an oldschool comb and just about everything else that would do a grown man good, Valet makes father's day shopping tons easier for you. And while you're at it, you might pick one for yourself if you're a father as well.

>>> THE READ: VAULT MAGAZINE

What's inside luxury anyway? Well VAULT knows exactly that. Premiere issue.
In a sea of normal-sized magazines here in the Philippines, I admit that it'll be hard for you to spot the book-sized Vault magazine. But when you're just like me who treats the stands like its research, landing upon the tiny, humble yet incredibly inviting Vault magazine you'll know you've landed a new drug. The cover itself is a testament to how the publication is: simple, straight-forward and sophisticated in delivering the very best of luxury. Like its editor-in-chief, David Celdran, says, luxury for Vault is art and you'll get just that. From the history of Mercedez Benz cars to knowing what kind of watch Kenneth Cobonpue loves, this is really more of a book than a magazine. Go start flipping its pages and learn all about the hardwork, passion and dedication that goes behind those pretty little (and big) expensive things.

>>> STYLE NOW: BACKYARD BILL
Andrew Wren for Backyard Bill
Street style blogs sorta trained us to just look at people instead of know them. If you haven't seen Backyard Bill, then you'd totally agree. Backyard Bill's blog is an interesting read featuring photos of familiar faces and fashion industry mainstays with their name, their zodiac sign, their style icons and their addresses. It doesn't just satiate your visuals, but it also feeds your mind thanks to the short profiles, which allows the subjects a little more personality than just simple style . Keep yourself posted on Backyard Bill, maybe your favorite personality'd be featured next.
