THE READER:

ROGUE March 2011

Nicole Hernandez on ROGUE's travel issue

Magazines here are beginning to warm up the newsstands and one among them, is THE EDGE favorite ROGUE.

March 2011 sees us staring back at the beautiful-lipped, blonde stunner Nicole Hernandez, shot by Mark Nicdao and styled by LA Consing Lopez. Shot in black and white, ROGUE gets classier and at the same time a little more edgy with the look...This will be a pretty fresh take on magazine covers since we're quite aware of just how much color magazines concern themselves with. I think it's Miguel Lugtu who deserves the credit for the cover's brilliant layout (since he is the magazine's Senior Designer). A cover like this usually works well with minimal texts and headlines, but Lugtu achieves perfect balance with the right amount of text, the right size of fonts while respecting the photograph by Nicdao and the styling by Consing Lopez. That adds just as much impact on readers as the other stunning visuals, like photography and styling. Great job.

While not everyone's as filthy-rich as Jay-Z, ROGUE gets you traveling the world for a humble price and that's one fine reason why magazines (specifically ROGUE) keep me inspired and (dare I say) knowledgeable. Welcome to ROGUE's Travel Issue, hitting the newsstands Manila-side and probably your iPads as well  by the end of this week.
