Raf Simons needs a new man.
Well not literally and in a homosexual matter, but more of a change of perceived Raf Simons customer. Spring 2010 for the brand Raf Simons brings new opportunities with his decision to give menswear something new to chew on.
Not only will Raf Simons try to penetrate the fashion world commercially, he will also try to convince men to wear suits that are reminiscent of taekwondo uniforms: suits with handsome shoulders, tiny waists paired with loose trousers. It's dramatic and in true Raf Simons style, strict and polished.
The textures and materials in this collection were hot and very high-fashion. Which indeed leads to the search for the new Raf Simons man.
It is official though that the menswear department is going ape over change and the search for freedom. And I am still wondering what's driving all of this?
Raf Simons for Spring 2010 is handsome. Period.
